Are you licensed?
Yes, Elite Electrical is a Class A Contractor licensed in Virgina, Maryland and West Virginia. Elite currently posesses business licenses in all counties and cities in these areas where work is performed. Kelly holds a Master's Electrical License in these three states to include the required counties and cities in MD where work is performed.

Are you insured?
Elite maintains all required insurances to include General Liability, Workman's Compensation, and Commercial Auto Insurance. Furthermore, Elite provides its employees full Life Insurance and Health Insurance benefits paid for by Elite. Although these may not be important to you, we want you to know that we care for not only your belongings but the health and well being of our employees.

Are you bonded?
No, Elite is bondable but not bonded. It is important to recognize that residential projects cannot be bonded - unless it involves security projects, locksmiths, and other specialty matters. A bond is simply an insurance policy to guarantee the work, and it must be purchased at the time the work is being performed. The purchasing and fees associated with a bond would be the homeowner's responsibility.

Do I need a permit to perform my work?
This depends. If your work is to repair or maintain your electrical system, then no, you generally do not need a permit to get the work done. However, if you are ADDING anything to the existing electrical system, then a City/County issued permit is required. Electricity is dangerous to those who are not professionals and not having a permit allows substandard work to be performed without checking for proper installation. Working without a proper permit is the law punishable by jail for those found working without a one. FYI - about 30% of Elite's work is derived from fixing other "electrician's" work and some of this work has been found to be installed in a very dangerous manner.

Do you charge by the job or by the hour?
This depends on the situation. Repair work is generally performed by the hour as there is no known work/price point to go from. Lighting installations, ceiling fans, projects large and small are normally performed by the job with written estimates provided before the work begins. Changes in the scope of work are documented to be agreed upon before the work begins eliminating the confusion during already busy times.

What areas do you work in?
The areas depend on the size and scope of the project, however Elite performs work from Fredericksburg, VA to Frederick, MD and from Annapolis, MD to Charlestown, WVA.

Do you work evenings and weekends?
Generally no. Our normal hours are from 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday. There may be occasions where working late or on the weekends may be necessary, but those times are reserved for extenuating circumstances.

Do you take credit cards for payment?
Yes. Elite takes all major credit cards, along with checks and although not recommended, cash.

Will you provide an estimate for our project?
Elite will provide an estimate free of charge for a homeowner provided there is a complete set of electrical plans to be bid from. For projects that do not have plans, we generally do not provide free estimates. Service call pricing is available over the phone for all calls that require hourly work to be performed.

What type of work do you perform?
Elite Electrical performs all types of residential electrical work. Service calls are usually scheduled to handle minor electrical issues such as lighting outages, defective lighting, or replacing damaged devices. Small and large projects can be scheduled to handle recessed lighting installations, bathroom and kitchen renovations, landscape lighting installations or backup generators. Specialty services such as surround sound wiring, internet networking, and telephone systems can also be handled at your convenience.
